This is such an incredibly sweet Christmas story Mia is off to send her grandfather a letter when she comes across a strange postbox that opens into a shop that opens into a forest where she finds a reindeer that flies her all the way to her grandfather to deliver her letter in person I believe this is my new favorite Christmas themed picture book The story is sweet and endearing but the illustrations and interactive

Whilst I loved the illustrations the writing did come off as a bit patronizing and twee and I hated being talked down to as a child so I'm not sure if I would recommend this to a younger version of myself or any other child

On the surface this book is about a girl who goes on an adventure on a reindeer to see her dad Father Christmas However when you start to explore the book you see that is about a girl who has a absent father did he die? does he work away? The girl jumps onto the reindeer express to visit her dad at the north pole I think that this is likely in her imagination The images are really interesting and add to the text to sugge

Tford The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth Last Stop on the Reindeer Express is a wonderful way to help children articulate their feelings when spending Christmas away from a parent grandparent or siblin. Whilst I loved the illustrations the writing did come off as a bit patronizing and twee and I hated being talked down to as a child so I m not sure if I would recommend this to a younger version of myself or any other child
