I received this book free from the Author in return for an honest review and Jesus H Christ am I glad I did Before I got this book I d never heard of the Author but now I ll be seeking out her work Danielle Taylor I Salute YouWARNING REVIEW MAY CONTAIN PROFANITY OR OTHER ADULT CONTENTFirst and ForemostSMUTTERTAINMENT value 1010 The sex scenes in this book were Hot Sweaty Slick and Sticky in short FANFUCKINGTASTIC The emotional journey of the love story in this book was by turns Warm Sweet Angsty and Intense The characters were beautifully described well developed and easy to invest in The captivity element of the storyline was somewhat unusual and not really what I was expecting even though I d read the blurb However the enjoyment factor was far beyond my expectations The plot just drew you in and immersed you in the scenario so that regardless of a few continuity issues the pleasure of the escapism let the nagging of the rational mind be overcome by the drama THE REST OF THIS REVIEW CONTAINS PLOT SPOILERSIf you don t want to know read no further Hannah Magnus travels to a luxury cabin for a 2 week Christmas Vacation she WAS supposed to be sharing with her fomer boyfriend Gary who has abandoned her and proposed to another woman Apparently she was boring and uninterested in sex Yeah we ll come back to that one later Mackenzie Mac Dunlop is a Retired Special Forces Black Ops Veteran who s paranoid well no people really do want to kill him When a falling tree totalled his house he worried it was a Government tree He s off to hide out in a cabin till the house is habitable again Guess what it s a double booking Mac just knows its a set up she s obviously out to assassinate him Hannah s got an ace though Her Brother was Special Forces in Canada She knows the drill The problem is this multi kV attraction sizzling between them Just when Mac lets down his guard he thinks he s made his last mistake as he s convinced she s gonna kill him after all but in another twist she saves both their lives instead Well that s pretty much the final catalyst so now they embark on a strenuous programme of Horizontal Lambada sessions but Wait There s something else we didn t know hang on lets go read chapter 1 again Hhhmmmmmmm Ok that just about works Then last day of the holiday but guess what He s abandoned her too but definitely NOT because of a lack of interest in sex oh no she s Hotter Than Hell in the sack or the shower or the kitchen Our boy has issues of his own Assassins for one the conseuences of a former relationship for another but hey his past is finally gonna help him with his future He s decided to reach for his HEA but there s one twist before he can touch it Novellas can be a problem format and as all things are subject to fashion there is a plethora of them out there now Rest Assured this short book provides a complete story We do get our HEA The next book is a spin off not a completion I know that some commentators will criticise typos and the standard of editing For me this is a FUCKTASTIC story I can t wait for the next one In the meantime Danielle Taylor is writing an outstandingly beautiful serial novel called Falling For You The first ten chapters are on her Blog can t tell you how good this is why not Because its not yet listed for review Read it nowk

Captive at Christmas Captive Hearts #1

Of circumstances Mac and Hannah find solace in each other after a harrowing event But the future holds no promise for either of them Distance and circumstances stand in their way Will love prevail Or will Hannah and Mac remain two solitary souls sharing love and memories living separate liv. Hannah Magnus retreats to an isolated cabin to nurse a heart broken by her brother s sudden death and her ex fianc s proposal to another woman It s supposed to be a time to heal and most importantly just time alone Unfortunately her time of solitude doesn t last very long when Mackenzie Dunlop winds up in the same cabin as she doesWith his house undergoing repairs from a felled tree Mackenzie Dunlop an ex military man heads to the mountains for peace and uiet and a chance to wrap his head around some unexpected news But his plans come to a halt when he finds out his cabin has been rented out to a Ms Hannah Magnus a woman who just possibly might have as many scars as he doesThough Mac has been out of the military for a few years he still carries those military ingrained instincts the ones that kept him alive in the toughest of times His initial meeting with Hannah is rough but it shows so much about his personality that I was instantly intrigued He values his privacy abhors surprises of any kind and at first has a deep distrust for women mainly Hannah But despite his rough exterior Hannah refuses to hate him Sure he s rude crude demanding and unfair in his opinion of her but she understands on some level why he is the way he is because of Help for Heroes a foundation she heads that supports people with a loved one in the militaryI felt I knew Mac after just a few chapters but Hannah had to grow on me Mac s scars emotionally and physically were obvious than Hannah s Everything Mac did his demands and uestions his actions and reactions reflected the life he d previously led Nothing about him was as hidden as he wanted it to be But Hannah She had do many layers that figuring her out made reading the story that much enjoyable For the most part Hannah was immensely accommodating and sweet toward Mac but there was that startling moment when she snapped at him It was interesting to see that side of her and I liked her all the because of itMac and Hannah didn t fall in love overnight But in the time they were together they managed to break through eight foot thick walls strengthen failing self confidence and dream of a future neither of them thought they d ever have The events that led to the ending were both heart wrenching and insightful but wow oh wow did the ending not disappoint The happiness and love Mac and Hannah shared by the time I came to the end was almost palatable through the pages and I nearly sighed with elation when everything came together as I hoped it wouldA well written story by Ms Taylor and I already have the second book Intimate Strangers on my TBR list for next month

R the next two weeksMackenzie Dunlop is a man of action and reaction A creation of his past and his profession When he travels to the cabin he rented to stay in until the repairs on his house are complete there is a surprise waitingand Mac loathes surprisesThrown together in the least likely. I m going to admit that this is the first romance I ve read and the first erotic book that I ve read So I didn t know what to expect There is a lot of passion and emotion between the main characters as they get to know each other The detail that Danielle Taylor uses to describe events feelings and thoughts makes them jump out of the book There is no way to read this book without it gripping youThe characters are phenomenally well written They are very believable and their narrative voices are easily distinguished from each other I got a very good feel for Mac s pain and for Hannah s determination As I read the book I was drawn into their little world and wondered what was going to happen with every pageI wanted to see with Kayla because she kind of made her appearance very close to the end She uickly proved to be an interesting character so I was disappointed that I couldn t get to know her Though maybe she s a teaser for a future book and I m on the hookI m looking forward to whatever Danielle writes next because she has proven herself incredibly talented with this novella

I am not a huge fan of erotica I'm not really a fan of erotica at all in fact so for me to give an erotic novella a 45 star thumbs up it must be pretty impressive In this case it is Danielle Taylor has created characters that manage to capture your attention right away I love when characters meet under unusual circumstances and these two definitely do There is no seen this done this before in this novella and I liked the direction the autho

Captive At Christmas is a technically correct book I did not find a single spelling error no typos and the formatting was great as well Characters were fleshed out well and Hannah is a character that you can sympathize with There are no “ta da” moments no characters that pop out of nowhere no scenes that do not fitMac I did not like him He did slowly grow on me I felt he was a prick in the beginning in the
