Blade Runner 2049: Interlinked - The Art

Dented look into the creative process that went into making Blade Runnerillustrating how director Villeneuve and his team took Scott's movie as a starting point and expanded the world by creating a new visual language infused with the original Blade Runner DNA I had high hopes for this book but was very disappointed after the long wait to finally receive it The contents are pretty average and most of the art is what I would describe as mood art Very little fine line art a la Syd Mead apart from a few vehicle pages just large brush stroke blocky art to get a feel for a scene Dark colours with the obligatory cut out figure slapped on The contents are all digital art by the way and it shows No disrespect to the people behind the art you may have been inspired by the original masterpiece but your offerings are pretty pale by comparison and lack the class of material produced than likely way before most of you were born Scathing comments indeed but this book is a wasted opportunity nothing than a hardback showcase of mood boards It should ve been packed with proper production design it isn tThe original Blade Runner Souvenir Magazine was packed with far interesting relevant stuff than this book is If you ve never seen it find itIn summary Don t waste your money
